John Streb was by all accounts, one of the districts true pioneer settlers. He came from Germany with family, first to Iowa and then on to Glendale. He worked many fields of endeavor, mining, brick making, teamstering, law enforcement and inn keeper to name a few. He met and married Veronica Gelhaus at Glendale. His death at the prime of his life was obviously a devastating blow to his family and friends.
