Glendale Headstone Photographs

January 23, 1879
Lion City, Beaverhead Co., Montana Territory

All that is known of Mr. Haiton is the following statement taken from a letter written by Mr. Earle to Sam Barbour, Mine Superintendent, who was in Helena on business at the time, to wit: "the snowslide hit about 3:30 pm, knocked down Mr. Barbour's office and the ore house. Two of Pennington's men, Haiton and Preston were approaching the ore house with a six-horse team and were carried away. The men and three of the horses were killed."

Final resting place is likely one of the several unmarked graves in the tiny cemetery on the hill.
